Deena is a highly skilled and compassionate psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner with a diverse background in healthcare. She graduated from Holy Family University in 2006 with a BSN and began her career as an RN in Northeast Philadelphia. Seeking further expertise, Deena completed her Masters at University of Pennsylvania in 2011.
Her journey led her to train with a psychiatrist in community mental health, where she specialized in treating severely and persistently mentally ill individuals in Bucks County. She then joined the Mental Health Department of the Philadelphia prison system, providing crucial care to incarcerated individuals with mental health needs.
Amidst the opioid crisis, Deena found her calling in substance use treatment, developing a deep passion for supporting those in recovery or actively using substances. Motivated by the need for compassionate and prompt mental health care in Bucks County, she founded Lower Bucks Wellness in 2018.
Deena firmly believes in empowering individuals to have autonomy in their healthcare decisions and considers them an integral part of the decision-making process. She also prioritizes harm reduction in all aspects of life. With a commitment to continuous learning, Deena specializes in treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. She constantly explores both conventional and innovative approaches to improve the quality of life for her patients, including medication options, vitamins, minerals, lifestyle modifications, and psychotherapeutic interventions.
As a medical speaker, Deena enjoys collaborating with other professionals in the field of psychiatry to enhance the quality of psychiatric care. She is board-certified and licensed to practice as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner.
Outside of work, Deena cherishes spending time with her husband and three boys. She finds solace and joy in gardening and embracing a homesteading lifestyle.
